Beyond Prosthetics: BMVSS Chief Patron DR Mehta Calls for More Humane Treatment to Animals

A strong voice against animal cruelty, Devendra Raj Mehta, chief patron and founder of Bhagwan Mahaveer Viklang Sahayata Samiti (BMVSS) and a Trustee of Federation of Indian Animal Protection Organisations (FIAPO), had set up a BMVSS facility to produce artificial limbs specifically for disabled animals. In fact, BMVSS has successfully developed artificial limbs for amputee animals, particularly cows. "Jaipur Foot has successfully tested the artificial limbs on amputee cows," said D.R. Mehta.

BMVSS Signs MoU to Hold Artificial Limb Camp at Senegal

Bhagwan Mahaveer Vikalang Sahayata Samiti (BMVSS), renowned creators of the world-famous Jaipur Foot, has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Centre National D'Appareillage Orthopidique (CNAO). The agreement establishes that an artificial limb camp will be in Senegal, West Africa in December this year. About 500 people with physical disabilities will be provided with artificial limbs during the camp.
