Jaipur Marriott Hotel associates participate in the Run2Health marathon in the Pink City. Run2Health, a healthy initiative to motivate hotel associates, is organized in association with Stepathlon Lifestyle. With the motto of “wellbeing,” the associates ran the Stepathlon race towards taking a step for a “Healthier Tomorrow”.
The collected funds will be administered to the Bhagwan Mahaveer Viklang Sahayata Samiti (BMVSS), one of the world’s largest organisations serving the disabled. BMVSS, renowned to be the Jaipur Foot creators and founded by Devendra Raj Mehta, offers all its assistance, including artificial prosthesis, calipers, and other aids and appliances that are free of charge. The Jaipur Foot is a lightweight and durable prosthetic limb that has outfitted millions of amputees around the world.
The Run2Health races commenced at 7:00 AM, from Jaipur Marriott Hotel to GT Flyover, and returning to the Jaipur Marriott Hotel. The race was around five kilometres, where the hotel teams comprised of general managers, senior leaders, and associates for this year’s Stepathlon race. Aside from the Jaipur Marriott Hotel employees, a large group of Hotel Management Institute college students had been invited to participate as well.
The funds garnered from the event will aid BMVSS to widen its reach and resources in helping landmine amputees and disease-ridden patients who have lost their limbs. In fact, BMVSS holds outreach programs and rehabilitation camps to extend its service to people with disabilities in remote areas. BMVSS is also focused on research and development, and combines philanthropy and technology, fused with care and empathy.
With Run2Health, BMVSS takes a step further in promoting positive experiences for the health and wellbeing of its patients. While the road to health is not an event, but a process, this initiative builds on experiences that impact one's health and wellbeing where participants and its beneficiaries can learn how to achieve a healthy and balanced lifestyle.
