BMVSS Becomes World’s Leading Organisation for Disabled, Home Minister of Rajasthan Praises

The makers of the world famous Jaipur Foot - Bhagwan Mahaveer Viklang Sahayata Samiti (BMVSS) – made its artificial  limbs, tricycls, wheelchairs, crutches, and hearing instruments available to 289 divyangs or people with disabilities identified by the Jaipur district adminstration, all worth at Rs. 30 Lakhs.



BMVSS offered the prosthetics and other aids and appliances free of cost to people with disabilities. BMVSS fitted the artificial limbs at its Malviya Nagar centre. On Wednesday, the former Home Minister of the Government of Rajasthan, Gulab Chand Kataria, presented the tricycles and wheelchairs to the identified persons with disabilities who were at the function. The Home Minister praised the efforts of BMVSS; he remarked that an organisation like BMVSS has chosen to offer services free of cost. According to Kataria, BMVSS – under the leadership of founder and cheif patron, Devendra Raj Mehta, has grown from strength to strength to become the world’s leading organisation for the handicapped.



The Home Minister was received by the secretaries of the BMVSS: Bhupendra Raj Mehta and Dr. Deependra Raj Mehta. 

D R Mehta could not  be present at the function because he was away in Ethiopia where BMVSS is currently running a rehabilitation camp for Jaipur Foot and has already benefited 700 Ethiopians.Kataria said that BMVSS has served the handicapped and until now, has continously rehabilitated persons with disabilities and established its global presence in 29 countries.



According to Jaipur Mayor Ashok Lahoti, Jaipur Foot is doing pioneering efforts and the Jaipur Municipal Corporation is willing to combine efforts with Jaipur Foot and offer assistance to those who need it.Additional Chief Secretary, Ashok Jain, said that the state government will identify all the divyangs across the state and they would be provided with artificial limbs and other aids and appliances, totally free of charge.



BMVSS Chief Executive Officer, S.S. Bissa, listed the achievements of the organisation and said  each day about 100-125 persons are provided with Jaipur Foot in its Jaipur centre. He declared other 23 centres are being run in various parts of the country.
